The 2026 Global LED Display Research White Paper shows that immersive LED spherical domes are expanding rapidly beyond traditional venues such as science and technology museums and planetariums into cultural and tourist attractions, commercial complexes, urban waterfront landmarks and other spaces. They have evolved into giant visual carriers that are "Instagrammable, operable and shareable". Since the start of this year, mega-scale dome projects including the "Space Palace Nova" in Qianjiang, Hubei and the 60-metre giant internal LED spherical dome at Kongtong Wonderland in Yantai have drawn widespread attention.

On October 30, at the Hangzhou Qiantang District Service Industry Conference, the "Eye of Vision" Spherical Immersive Giant Screen Performance Center was officially unveiled and signed to settle in Qiantang. Planned with a diameter of roughly 168 metres, an exterior LED area of around 72,000 square metres and a total investment of approximately 8 billion yuan, it marks another landmark planned project in China's mega LED spherical dome sector.

According to official releases from Qiantang District, the project is proposed for the prime riverfront core zone of Jinshazui New Town. It will be led by Hong Kong-based XINSHI International Investment Limited and invested and developed by Eye of Vision (Hangzhou) Digital Entertainment Technology Co., Ltd. The plan features a spherical immersive giant screen venue about 168 metres in diameter and 122 metres in height, with roughly 20,000 seats inside and an exterior LED screen covering around 72,000 square metres. The main site occupies about 84 mu, with an additional supporting expansion zone of around 240 mu under consideration, for a total investment of approximately 8 billion yuan.

In terms of business formats, the indoor theatre will host immersive shows, large-scale concerts for tens of thousands of audiences, brand launch events, as well as esports, street dance, fencing, boxing and other competitions. The external space will accommodate comic conventions, music festivals, holiday celebrations, drone light shows and more. The developer forecasts that upon opening, the venue will receive 9–13 million visitors annually and generate over 2.6 billion yuan in yearly operating revenue.

Based on published specifications, the Hangzhou "Eye of Vision" outperforms the MSG Sphere in Las Vegas, United States (approximately 157 metres in diameter with a 54,000-square-metre exterior screen) in diameter, height, seating capacity and exterior LED area. That said, the project is still in the signing and preliminary advancement phase and has not yet started construction.
